Good news concerning the flu season in the metro.
"Activity appears to be slowly decreasing in Douglas County," says Douglas County Health Director Adi Pour. "However, it may still linger for several weeks."
Dr. Pour says there have been 1900 laboratory-confirmed cases of the flu, the most in ten years. But there were 96 fewer cases last week than during the week before.
But another health hassle may be on the horizon. "We do see a lot of Respiratory Syncytial Virus, and the same prevention that we use for flu is also valid for RSV."
RSV causes infection of the lungs and breathing passages and is a major cause of respiratory illness in young children.
