A Hollywood-style gala raised $30,000 for the Isis Theatre in Crete.
Crete schools superintendent Kyle McGowan is one of the civic leaders who organized the gala to help buy digital projection equipment for the Isis. He says the group needed $25,000 from the event but raised $30,000.
The money went to Isis owner Thom Reeves so he can buy digital projection equipment, which costs about $85,000.
Crete Economic Development already had contributed a matching grant of $43,000, and $15,500 was raised at other benefits.
