Stacey Found Not Guilty

After a two day trial former Bellevue Police Chief John Stacy is found not guilty.

Stacey's attorney James Martin Davis tells 1110 KFAB it took the jury about 45 minutes to reach a verdict.

Stacey was facing a misdemeanor gun charge for lending a handgun to former Gretna CityAdministrator Colleen Lawry.  She did not have the proper permit to own a handgun.

Davis says it was a unanimous verdict and it was what he and Stacy had hoped for.  Davis says Stacey can now put this behind him and get on with his future.
