The department's Southeast Precinct will be offering its next annual Community Education Training Program in Spanish. The program has been around for more than a decade, giving members of the public an understanding of internal police workings.

The free program will start April 8, and the evening course will meet every Monday through May 6. Deadline for applications is March 22.

Topics will include graffiti and gangs, narcotics, domestic violence, child abuse, officer training and police dogs.

Participants will also ride with an officer, tour the precinct, participate in police scenarios and meet the Chief Todd Schmaderer.
