Louie Blumkin, who spent his life giving the credit to others for the success of Nebraska Furniture Mart, died Tuesday night at the age of 93.
After serving in World War Two, Blumkin and his mother Rose developed the Mart into the nation's largest furniture store in one location. He and his mother were both named to the U.S. furniture industry's Hall of Fame.
In a note to staff and friends, officials said "the NFM family will honor his memory by re-dedicating our best efforts to continuing the work he loved so much."
