Ten Boston University students are giving up traditional spring break activities to help repair an elderly Omaha man's house.
On a day when Omahan's were digging out from the latest snow storm, the students with Boston Univeristy's Community Service program began their week long effort to make Adner Hervey's north Omaha house safer and more accessible.
Tyler Ierardi is one of the students who is leading the effort. The Massachusetts native says he hasn't endulged in a traditional spring break since high school. "I get much more out of this than going to Mexico or drinking," Ierardi says.
The group is working with Rebuilding Together to make minor repairs, paint the inside walls and pick up clutter around the house.
Ierardi spent one spring break in New Orleans helping with the ongoing cleanup effort from Hurricane Katrina.
