Local law enforcement agencies want teens and adults to report underage drinking parties before they happen
As prom and graduation season approaches, posters will be appearing in area schools and around the community. They include the 1-866-MUST-B-21 telephone number.
Sarpy County Sheriff Jeff Davis hopes anyone with knowledge of underage drinking parties will call the number and help prevent a tragedy. From 2007 to 2011 there were 1,456 underage drivers involved in alcohol related crashes. There were 700 teens injured in those crashes and 50 were killed.
Davis says callers can remain annonymous. "They just have to give a location and when the party is." Callers will be asked to punch in the zipcode and will be forwarded to the proper law enforcement agency.
