Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle says David Smalheiser will replace retired City Prosecutor Marty Conboy.

Smalheiser has been in the City Law Department since 1984 and has managed the City’s criminal and traffic diversion programs.

Smalheiser is a Creighton Law School graudate and has overseen efforts to modernize the City Law Department, including the introduction of an electronic case management system.

“There were many good candidates, but David’s long history with the city prosecutor’s office and his knowledge of criminal justice will give him a unique advantage not only managing the prosecutor’s office but also working with the Mayor on initiatives to curb criminal activity in Omaha,” says Omaha City Attorney Paul Kratz.
