Deadline Looms For Pet Licenses

You can license your pet in person, or online at nehumanesociety.org.

Friday is the deadline to get your pets licensed in Douglas and Sarpy counties.

A rabies shot is required, but the Nebraska Humane Society's Pam Wiese says don't worry if you can't get one scheduled before times runs out. "Send the payment in, or come in and license... and then you have 30 days from the deadline to get your rabies shot," she says. "So, don't let (the lack of a) rabies shot keep you from licensing."

Wiese says late fees in Douglas County are pretty stiff. You can license your pet in person, or online at nehumanesociety.org.
