It was one of two stolen vehicle reports police were investigating in the same area Tuesday morning
Omaha police say a man driving a stolen pick up drove through a fence and into the side of a house near 21st and Pierce around 6:00 a.m. He then ran, but police caught him about a block away. No one inside the house was injured.
Police believe that man may have been scared when he drove by and saw several cruisers at 24th and Arbor. Officers were there to investigate a stolen vehicle that was taken from a home invasion at 5:30 a.m. at 99th and U Street.
Police say the suspect in the home invasion struck a resident with the butt of a shotgun and then fled the scene in his vehicle. That vehicle was found parked at a home near 24th and Arbor a half an hour later.
