Tony Cato was paralyzed by a drunk driver six years ago
Cato played basketball for the Huskers back in the 1980's. In 2007 he was declared a quadriplegic and few thought he would ever walk again.
But six years and eight surgeries later Cato can walk, but still suffers partial paralysis. The wreck and resulting medical bills took a toll on Cato and he now lives with his mother on a tight budget.
During a recent conversation a friend asked Cato if he could have one thing, what would it be? He thought about a nice vacation or getting his laptop fixed. What he wanted the most was to take a bath again. “It’s been so long since I’ve taken a bath,” he said.
Without telling him, Jennifer Galloway took a shot and wrote several specialty tub companies to see if they would give Tony the one thing he wanted. The Safe Step Walk-In Tub Company in Nashville was the only one that responded.
They decided to surprise and delight Tony with a brand new state-of-the-art walk-in tub free of charge. On Thursday the tub was delivered and installed.
When he learned he was getting the tub Cato says "I was speechless."
