La Vista authorities say an out of control car struck the house south of 86th and Harrison around 7:45 Monday morning
La Vista Fire Chief Rich Uhl says they were prepared to evacuate residents after a portion of the gas meter was severed. But he says Black Hills energy crews were able to quickly shut the gas off.
Uhl says a woman lost control of her car, sideswiped a vehicle parked on the street, jumped the curb and hit the front of the house. The front end of the car sustained heavy damage.
She was taken to the hospital, but her condition is not known. No one in the house was hurt. Uhl says they don't know why the woman to lost control.
