Several dogs were found living in filthy conditions inside an Omaha home
Nebraska Humane Society investigators served a search warrant at a home near 35th and Saratoga Wednesday afternoon. Spokesman Mark Langan says they got the warrant after learning several dogs may be living in unsanitary conditions.
Residents of the home listed dogs on Craigslist and met customers in various parking lots in north Omaha. Langan says they recieved numerous complaints about the conditions of the dogs sold, as well as allegations that the sellers were verbally aggressive and threatening to buyers in an attempt to get more money from them.
Langan says the four people inside the home refused to answer the door for more than an hour. Eventually, officers entered the home and found nine dogs from as small as a Chihuahua to larger dogs including a Great Dane and St. Bernard.
Langan says the dogs were in relatively good shape. There was feces throughout the basement where many of the dogs were.
