Bail has been set at $5-thousand for James Kinsella
James Kinsella found himself on the other side of the law Tuesday afternoon. After turning himself in, Kinsella was escorted into a Douglas County courtroom wearing an orange jump suit.
A judge then set bail at $5-thousand. Kinsella is charged with felony tampering with evidence, obstructing governmental operations and theft by unlawful taking for his role in a controversial arrest at 33rd and Seward on March 21
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine says Kinsella took a cell phone memory card that recorded the arrest and later disposed of it. He's also accused of covering up his actions.
His former boss, Sergeant Aaron Von Behren, is charged with obstructing governmental operations and being an accessory to a felony. Kleine says Von Behren knew about Kinsella's actions. He was released on his own recognizance.
