Millions are being spent on new technolgy and other improvements.
Work crews have begun dismantling the original video scoreboard that hung above the arena floor. It was a state of the art system when it was installed ten years ago.
Roger Dixon oversees operations at the CenturyLink Center. He says the new technology being purchased is part of their committment to the community to keep the facility updated. He says the new video scoreboard will be high definition, so the resolution will be much higher. It will also be bigger than the original scoreboard.
Dixon says they will also add new message boards outside the arena. In an effort to enhance the overall fan experience, there will be new concession stands and the club area will be remodeled.
Nearly $10 million is being spent on the project. Dixon says the money comes from the revenues they make. The video portion of the project will be completed in July. The rest will be finished in September.
