Hasan Phillips said he was firing the shotgun in honor of the Fourth of July.
Cops were called to 54th and Spaulding late Monday night after neighbors heard gunshots. They told the officers the suspect was a guy in all-black and carrying a shotgun.
Police located the suspect, then the shotgun nearby. Hasan Phillips said he was firing it in honor of the Fourth of July.
Ten days before the holiday.
Phillips was booked on felony charges, so he may still be in the slammer by the time the real July 4th gets here.
