Select streets north of Memorial Park will be one-way for tonight's "Bank of the West Celebrates America" concert.
Early birds claimed their spots on the slope at Memorial Park Friday morning, in preparation for the evening's "Bank of the West Celebrates America" event.
They don't have to worry about traffic volume around the park. But you might.
So to ease traffic flow in the neighborhoods near the park, streets north of Underwood Avenue to Western Avenue from Happy Hollow to 66th Street and streets from Western Avenue north to Hamilton Street from 54th Street to 58th Street will be designated one way between and the end of the event. Parking will be allowed only on the east side of the streets in this area. This is a safety precaution to ensure that the city’s fire and rescue equipment can get through if necessary.
Again in 2013, the stage will be located on the Dodge Street side of Memorial Park. All Dodge Street lanes will be open.
Carpooling is encouraged. The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) will allow people attending the event to use its parking facilities. UNO’s regular lots and the multi-level parking garage will be available after Those parking at UNO should use the pedestrian overpass when crossing Dodge Street.
