Omaha Firefighters were called to 165th and Fort late Monday morning
Omaha Fire officials say what was supposed to be a controlled burn quickly got out of control around 11:00 Monday morning near 165th and Fort.
Four large piles of trees were burning when the flames spread to a nearby barn. It was destroyed. Firefighters kept the fire from spreading to another barn and a house.
An Omaha fire official says the person who was burning the brush had a permit. The State Fire Marshal's office will investigate.
