The proposal would make Infield at the Zoo available for events at which alcohol would be served.
The Omaha City Council this week is scheduled to vote on a proposal by the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. It would make some of the former site of Rosenblatt Stadium avaiable for events at which alcohol would be served.
Councilman Garry Gernandt tells 1110 KFAB it's not unheard of. "The plan upon completion was to rent this out to special parties... as they do at various parts of the zoo."
Gernant supports the proposal, but says council must make certain proper arrangements are in place for things like security and cleanup... just they do with all applicants.
Infield at the Zoo is a replica of Rosenblatt Stadium where families can picnic and kids can run the bases and play catch.
