358 traffic stops were made during a special enforcement during the Cox Classic
Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol Troop A Omaha took three impaired drivers off the road cited four juveniles for being minors in possession of alcohol and issued eight open container citations during high visibility patrols in conjunction with a special enforcement effort August 22-24.
The patrols were in an effort to reduce the potential for alcohol related crashes and accidents involving motorists and pedestrians in the congested areas near the site of the Cox Classic Golf Tournament.
During the effort troopers made 258 contacts. Thirty-seven citations were issued for speeding, five for driving under suspension, five for no proof of insurance, seven seat belt citations and one child restraint violation.
A nearly $10,000 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety funded the extra enforcement.
