Erica Jenkins yelled that the $100K suggested bond was too much, so the judge set it at $250K. Well played.
Court officials moved quickly Thursday to quell an outburst by the sister of a suspect in four Omaha killings.
Erica Jenkins is charged with assaulting another jail inmate after being arrested on a criminal mischief charge.
She yelled at court officials that the $100,000 bond prosecutors proposed for her was too high and had be dragged by deputies from the courtroom, knocking over a podium in the process. The judge set her bond at $250,000.
Her hearing followed one for her brother, Nikko Jenkins, who is charged with four counts of first-degree murder. Prosecutors say he indiscriminately killed four people in three separate shooting over three weeks in August, after he was release from a 10-year stint in prison.
