A 12 year old Bellevue girl is donating her birthday money to a good cause.
A 12 year old Bellevue girl gave up her birthday gifts for others. Olivia Graesser turned 12 years old on September 11th and the only thing on her birthday list was instead of gifts she wanted donations to help pay for a pizza party for residents of the Eastern Nebraska Veterans' Home.
Graesser's mother, Marsha tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB this is the fourth year that Olivia decided that she has enough "stuff" and would rather see money spent on gifts go to a better cause. She says her first donation was canned goods to charitable organization. She has also donated to the Nebraska Humane Society and to help sick children in Kenya.
Olivia will be the guest of honor during the pizza party later this month. She collected $670 in "birthday money" that will pay for the event.
