Task force back at work trying to remove the second victim from the industrial accident at the International Nutrition plant
The Nebraska Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue team is back at work at the building collapse of the International Nutrition building near 77th and I.
Officials at the scene tell Newsradio 1110 KFAB that the wind is not hampering the recovery effort.
The identity of the second person has not yet been released.
The conditions of the two patients currently at the Nebraska University Medical Center have been upgraded. One patient with a collapsed lung has been upgraded to fair condition and the other patient treated for hypothermia is now listed in good condition.
Officials at Alegent Creighton University Medical Center reported the male patient there has been upgraded to fair condition. The patient still at Bergan Mercy is now listed in stable condition.
Mayor Jean Stothert released a statement on Monday, offering full support to Interim Fire Chief Bernard Kanger on the recovery efforts.
On Tuesday, The Douglas County Board of Commissioners issued a statement offering heartfelt sympathies on the losses suffered by the families of those injured and killed in yesterday's tragic industrial accident.
