The group will look at various solutions over the next 90 days

Mayor Jim Suttle says the Omaha Police department is doing a good job at trying to get illegal guns and those who use them off the streets.  But he says more can be done.

On Wednesday Suttle issued an executive order creating a task force to find ways to reduce violent crime.

The group is comprised of elected officials, city government represenatives and citizens.  Suttle says they will study practices used in other cities, find ways to improve communication between city officials law, enforcement and the public, and  look at potential legislation that would bring about harsher penalties for people convicted of selling or using illegal guns.
