The national weather service has issued a winter weather watch for Wednesday-Thursday with an expected 8-12 inches of snow in the Omaha metro area.
Tips to help save time, money and frustration:
1. Check the pantry for basic staples: tiolet paper, toothpaste, coffee, tea, non-heated food items in case the power goes out, batteries, flashlights, warm blankets, stock up on firewood inside the home if you have a fireplace.
2. Get gas and grocery staples today. Typically lines and wait times are longer for both the day before and the day of severe winter weather.
3. Make sure windsheild wipers, fluids are topped off in the car and emergecy kit items are packed in case of a breakdown.
4. Bust out the crockpot: making soup, chili, roast, etc will allow you to make several days worth of meals in one afternoon.
5. Be safe out there.
