OBAMA GETS LITERAL LIFT FROM FLORIDA PIZZERIA OWNER

President Obama got a literal lift while campaigning in Florida yesterday, when pizzeria owner Scott Van Duzer grabbed him around the waist and lifted the leader of the free world up a foot off the ground.

Obama made an unannounced stop at the Big Apple Pizza & Pasta Restaurant in Fort Pierce, where Van Duzer -- who's a registered Republican (yeah, right), but voted for Obama in 2008 and plans to vote for him again -- said he got just 40 minutes notice and raced to his restaurant from the driving range.

When Obama arrived, he started joking with the 6'3", 260-pound Van Duzer, saying, "Let me tell you, you are like the biggest pizza shop owner I've ever seen. Everybody, look at these guns. If I eat your pizza will I look like that?" The two started laughing and hugged, and then Van Duzer lifted Obama up, saying, he was, quote, "just overcome with excitement."

When asked by reporters what the Secret Service thought of his move, Van Duzer responded, "He said I was all right as long as I didn't take him away."
