High School Principal Emails Parents Over Female Students Wearing Tight Leggings
A Minnesota high school principal has drawn some attention for an email he sent to parents expressing his concerns about female students wearing tight leggings with short tops.
Principal Dave Adney of Minnetonka High School wrote, "In past years, this has not been a major problem, since fashion norms called for a long sweatshirt, jersey or sweater to be worn in conjunction with the leggings. This fall, another pattern has emerged, and we are requesting parent support."
Adney told the Star-Tribune newspaper, "This new trend doesn't seem right. It's troubling. Cover your butts up -- I'm just going to say it straight up. We're seeing too much." Although the principal is urging the students to show some modesty, there isn't currently a ban on leggings.
