The man who was Mayor before Mike Fahey, wants his job back. After contemplating a run for several months, Daub will be the first person to declare his candidacy for mayor.
Earlier this year, Mayor Fahey announced he would not be seeking a third term and several people including at least three City Councilmen have expressed interest in the position.
Daub will announce he's running at 9:30 at his campaign headquarters at 114th Street and West Center Road.
University of Nebraska-Omaha Professor Randy Adkins believes Daub's name recognition will help him with Omaha voters during the primary process.
