Omaha Police are attempting to piece together what led up to a shooting that sent one man to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.
A woman told police that the shooting victim approached her just before 3:00 near 96th and Center looking for help.
The man was suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. The woman called 911, but while she was on the phone with dispatchers the man walked away.
Officers were able to locate the man. He was transported to Nebraska Medicine for treatment of his injuries.
Police say the man would not answer their questions and they found no evidence at the scene.
The investigation into what happened to the man continues.
