Toddler Pulled From Bellevue Pond

Bellevue Police say a toddler was rushed to the hospital Thursday after a near-drowning.   Bellevue officers were called to a small pond located on 45th Avenue just south of Giles around 4:30 p.m.

Investigators say the boy was playing outside in the fenced back yard when his father noticed him missing from the yard. Police said the father went to look for him and found his son lying face down in the pond approximately 60 to 80 yards away from their home.

When rescue personnel arrived, the child was unconscious but was breathing. The child was transported to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha where he is currently in stable condition.
