Man Carjacked In Front Of His Home

An Omaha man was carjacked by an armed robber while sitting in his mother's car outside of his house late Wednesday night.

Omaha Police say officers were called to the house near 11th and Center just before midnight for a report of a robbery.

The victim, 21 year old Ahmed Qarala, told officers he was sitting in his mother's Chevy Cruze in front of his home when the suspect approached the vehicle and opened the car door.

Qalara says the suspect was armed with a handgun and demanded his property, along with the car keys.

The suspect was last seen driving southbound on 11th Street in the stolen Cruze.

Just before 2:00 Thursday morning officers located the stolen vehicle in a parking lot at Mount Vernon Gardens near 13th and U streets.

The suspect is described as a male, possibly late teens, 5'11, thin, wearing a white camo "Everest" brand hoodie.
