A massive pre-dawn fire tore through the Black Sands apartments in the 4900 block of North 32nd Street in Lincoln.
There were more than a dozen fire trucks and 50 firefighters on the scene. Flames were shooting from the roof of one of the buildings. Nearby homes were evacuated in case the fire spread.
The fire was declared under control by 6:15. The Red Cross was on scene handing out blankets, socks and other items to residents of the apartment building.
Everyone inside heard the alarm and got out with no injuries being reported. There was no immediate indication of a cause.
