Old Market Fall Festival Is Sunday

Those in the metro area can get an early start to Halloween Sunday by attending the Old Market Fall Festival.

Christina Randall with the Omaha Downtown Improvement District says everyone is invited to come in costume for this fun and free family event. There will be interactive displays with crews from the Omaha Police and Omaha Fire Departments and trick-or-treat candy stations throughout the area.

Randall says, "Our big highlight is going to be the Book Bus.  Metro brings in a bus and kids of all ages can trick-or-treat for books.  This year we have books for all ages so not only the kids but high schoolers and parents."

A number of businesses are putting on fun activities for kids that include a photo booth, spooky science, face painting, paint a pot and more.

Families are encouraged to come in costume for a fun filled afternoon and don't forget to dress up the pets.  There is a pet costume contest with registration starting at 1:30.  The contest starts at 2:30.

The Old Market Fall Festival starts at 1 p.m. and lasts until 4 p.m.  There is free parking at Omaha Park Four Lot at 10th and Jackson.
