Woman Buys Winning Scratch Ticket With Fake Money

Papillion Police are looking for a woman they say bought a winning lottery ticket from the Papillion Fareway with fake money.

Papillion Police Sergeant Jeff Payton tells 6 News the woman made some real money off her phony $100 bill. ”She also won on a scratch off ticket that she used the bill to buy and she got the money from that. So it was kind of double her money on that.”

The unidentified woman not only won from the ticket, but she also received real money as change from the original purchase of the winning ticket. In security footage, you can clearly see the woman excitedly high-fiving a store clerk after winning. That excitement may not last long though as police are looking for the woman, and want to know how she got her hands on the funny money.

Investigators are currently looking in to how much the store paid out for the winning scratch ticket. Anyone with information about the woman's identity should call Sarpy County Crime Stoppers at 402-592-STOP.
