Alleged Child Porn Investigation Underway

Police and school administration in Wahoo are looking into a student who allegedly took video of another student in a bathroom stall and shared the video.

Wahoo High School parent, Toni Payton, tells 6 News that her son was shown the explicit vodeo by another student. "He was essentially exposed to child pornography within the school's walls... This cannot be swept under the rug."

Payton says her son described the video in detail to her. "A student who is a sophomore had been masturbating in the bathroom stall with the door closed, and a junior used his cell phone to record the sophomore masturbating. Then he showed the video to other students in the school."

Reportedly, school officials did not tell parents about the incident, and Payton wants to know why. "They could have put out an automated phone call that said: 'We had an incident. The administration is aware of it. Please have a conversation with your kids.'"

Wahoo Public Schools Superintendent Brandon Lavaley sent a statement to 6 News saying: "In matters of student discipline, the school district will not comment. In any potential criminal matters, comment must come from law enforcement."

The Wahoo Chief of Police tells 6 News an investigation is underway and asks anyone that has a copy of the video to come forward.
