A week long search for a missing South Bend, Nebraska woman ended Friday afternoon when family members of 70 year old Sandra Root found her body in the Platte River near her home.
Root had been reported missing March 2. In a Facebook post Friday night Root's family thanked everyone for their thoughts, prayers and efforts to help find her "It is with heavy hearts we let you know she has gone to be with her loving husband in heaven."
The Nebraska State Patrol, Cass County Sheriff's Office and several other agencies assisted in the search. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
