Bond Set For Man Accused Of Luring; Sexually Assaulting Child

A man accused of luring a child into his home with candy and sexually assaulting the girl made his first court appearance on Wednesday.

Bond was set at $500,000 for 62 year old Ramon Marroquin, faces charges of Third Degree Sexual Assault on a Child and Criminal Child Enticement. A public defender was assigned to Marroquin's case.

Prosecutors say last Thursday, Marroquin kissed the child, exposed his penis and asked her to touch it at his apartment near 45th and Blondo.

The child's mother asked her why she had gone to a stranger's apartment, with the child saying he was not a stranger because he gave her candy.

The girl told her mother that Ramon Marroquin stood at the back of the building and without saying a word, waved her over. He then reportedly gave her candy and brought her into his basement apartment.

A preliminary hearing is set for May 15th.
