Northwest Omaha Bakery Fire Is A Two Alarmer

Investigators say a two alarm fire late last night caused an estimated $500,000 in damage to "Pettit’s Pastry" at 120th and Blondo.

The fire was reported around 11:15 p.m., and firefighters found heavy flames and smoke coming from the back of the building when they pulled up.

The second alarm was sounded about 15 minutes later. Firefighters took a defensive approach due to the threat of an electrical hazard.

It took a little more than an hour to get the flames under control.  No one was inside at the time, and there were no injuries.

MUD and OPPD crews were on scene to disconnect utilities.  The cause is under investigation.
