Crimestoppers Reward Puts Opioid Dealers On Notice

Omaha Crimestoppers and law enforcement officials are turning up the heat on opioid dealers in the metro area. On Wednesday a $5,000 reward was announced for tips leading to the arrests of opioid dealers.

"Money talks and there is no loyalty in the drug world," says Crimestoppers Board President Mark Langan, who spent 18 years with the Omaha Police narcotics unit.

"Once drug dealers, drug users hear about this opioid reward we're going to be getting a lot of calls to Omaha Crimestoppers about who the dealers are," Langan says.

Opioids include heroin, fentanyl, and carfentanyl and pose a significant health risk to those who use it and first responders.  "I've been contacted by two families who lost loved ones, both young males in their early 20's  who died of fentanyl overdoses," Langan says.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska and Kohll’s Pharmacy are making the reward possible.   Callers to Omaha Crimestoppers remain completely anonymous.   Tips can be called into 402-444-STOP (7867) or by going to www.omahacrimestoppers.org, P3tips.com or the p3tips mobile app.
