Fire Tears Through Bellevue Apartment Building

Residents of The Fontenelle Hills Apartments in Bellevue got an early Christmas morning wake-up call after fire broke out in one of the buildings around 4:30 a.m.

The fire started on a second floor balcony and spread to the third floor.  Some people were complaining of the effects of smoke, but only one person was treated at the scene for a minor injury.   

One other person had to be rescued from the third floor.   The Red Cross is assisting the affected families who were displaced. 

The entire building sustained heavy damage. The blaze was brought under control around 8:00.  The cause is under investigation.
