Access Plan For Betty, Chris And Hanson Lakes Residents

Over the past few days, Sarpy County authorities have been focusing on identifying and removing as many safety hazards as possible in Betty Lake, Chris Lake and Hanson Lakes. The Unified Command team has now finalized an access plan for those areas.

Before being allowed into the neighborhood, one representative from each property will be required to check in at the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office near 84th and Platteview Road. The sheriff's office tentatively plans to begin check-ins at 9 a.m. Friday, March 22. That time and date could be postponed if conditions within the neighborhood change.

When checking in, property representatives will need to bring identification with them to the Sheriff’s Office to show they own the property or are a renter. This could include a driver’s license, rental/lease agreement or utility bill. They will receive a placard that must be displayed on the outside of their homes.

Once this process is complete, residents can access their properties immediately. Access will only be allowed through the 36th Street and La Platte Road entrance.

People will be allowed to stay in the neighborhood 24 hours a day, but they can only enter between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Residents concerned about pets should contact the Nebraska Humane Society at 402-444-7800 ext. 1.
