Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge Reopens

Omaha city officials say The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge reopened Tuesday afternoon. The bridge had been closed due to flooding on the Council Bluffs side of the Missouri River.

Elmwood Park Road has also reopened between University Drive and Pacific. It was closed after heavy rain and runoff from the golf course severely damaged the pavement.

In addition, disposal facility Under the Sink will be operating on extended hours to help those impacted by flooding dispose of household hazardous materials. In addition to regular hours, Under the Sink will be open on Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and Saturday hours will be extended through 4 p.m. through the month of April.

Accepted items can be found here, and those using the service must show proof of Douglas or Sarpy County residency.
