The final phase of the Asian Highlands exhibit opens Friday at the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium.The ribbon cutting is at 10:30 a.m.
The new exhibit includes a nearly half-mile of new trail and two animals from the Asian Highlands never seen before in Omaha.Streams run beside the trail and mist for hot patrons make the Asian Highlands perfect for the summer.However, the exhibit will stay open in the cooler months as well.
Friday, the zoo also the last day visitors can see the cat complex that was built in the 1970's.Plans call for demolishing that exhibit and design a new one in the coming year.
