Lincoln Police Arrest Man For Thursday Murder

Lincoln Police have arrested 22 year old Michael Dewey for the Thursday morning murder of 47 year old Desmond Fowler.

Fowler's body was found on the sidewalk at 27th and Holdrege as police responded to a report of shots fired.

Dewey was arrested for First Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony. Police said the incident began as a disturbance in the 2200 block of Potter, but no details were released on what led up to the shooting.

The investigation shows Dewey was the driver of a vehicle involved in the incident. Police said a white car with front end damage was in the area at the time of the shooting.

Police say that as the investigaton continues they are looking for help from the public. Police Chief Jeff Bleimeister says they have learned that witnesses with knowledge of the incident remain unidentified and investigators need to speak with them. In addition, police have not recovered the handgun used.
