Lincoln Police Officer's Nose Broken During Altercation

Lincoln Police say a man has been arrested after breaking the nose of one of their officers Tuesday night.

Police say the officer responded to a narcotics complaint near 19th and G streets just before 8 p.m. The caller reported two men were seated on a nearby retaining wall with drugs.

As the officer arrived, one of the men started to walk away. Police say the officer directed the man to stop but he continued to walk away. The officer caught up to the man and told him to stop.

Police say that's when the man elbowed the officer in the face and knocked her to the ground. Despite being injured, the officer was able to radio for help and provide a detailed description of the suspect.

A perimeter was set up and the man was eventually arrested. He refused to give his name and was booked into jail under the name John Doe.
