A man who police say was assaulted in a North Omaha convenience store parking lot died from his injuries on Wednesday.
On the evening of Wednesday, March 25th officers were called to J-N-J Grocery at 42nd and Bedford for an assault. Upon arrival, officers located 49 year old Horace Steen down in the parking lot. Witnesses said that Steen was punched, fell to the ground and hit his head on the concrete.
Steen was taken to Nebraska Medicine where he died from his injuries on Wednesday.
On Thursday, March 26th officers located the suspect, 57 year old Massey Allen Jr, and arrested him 1st Degree Felony Assault. Allen's charges have now been upgraded to Homicide.
