80 More Cases of Coronavirus Reported in Douglas County

The number of COVID-19 coronavirus cases continues to climb in Douglas County.

On Tuesday, the Health Department reported 80 new cases of COVID-19 in the county. DCHD says they are working on developing further data from the newest cases. With Tuesday's positive tests, the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the county is now at 1,715 since the start of the outbreak. That is the most cases in any Nebraska county. Hall and Dawson counties are both reporting over 1,300 cases.

Douglas County saw a 28.5 percent positive results on tests reported Monday to the Health Department. DCHD has confirmed that 266 county residents have recovered from the virus.

As of Monday night, local hospitals reported that 532 medical surge beds are available, with 108 patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 373 ventilators available to area hospitals, 130 were in use, including 38 for confirmed COVID-19 patients.
