Arrest made in Sunday morning homicide

Omaha Police say a man is behind bars in connection to the city's most recent homicide.

According to police, 59 year old Rickey Bradberry was arrested by the Omaha Police Homicide Unit on Wednesday. Investigators believe Bradberry shot 48 year old Charles Rockwood near 24th and Poppleton Sunday morning. Officers were initially called to 1320 South 24th Street just after 2:00 Sunday morning for a check the well being call, which was then upgraded to a shooting. Rockwood was found near the address and was declared deceased.

Bradberry was booked into Douglas County Corrections for First Degree Murder, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony and Felon in Possession.
