Millard North teacher facing additional sexual assault charges

A Millard North High School teacher charged with first-degree sexual assault on Wednesday is now facing more charges.

Andrew McGreevy, a 40 year old language arts teacher at Millard North High School, was booked into Douglas County Jail Wednesday afternoon.

According to a report from the Omaha Police Department on Thursday, McGreevy is now facing six charges: three charges of 1st-degree sexual assault, two 3rd-degree sexual assault of a child charges and a charge of felony child abuse.

The school's principal first alerted police to the incident on July 30th after receiving letters from women who claimed McGreevy had assaulted them sexually. McGreevy is accused of sexually assaulting a 17 year old student during a school production twelve years ago at a theater in Benson. According to court documents, the victim said he groped and molested her backstage while she was dressed in a hospital gown costume and waiting for her cue.

MPS issued a statement in response to McGreevy’s arrest:

“Andrew McGreevy has worked for the district for four years as an English Teacher at Millard North High School. Concerns regarding Mr. McGreevy’s behavior outside of school were brought to our attention mid-summer. We reported the allegations brought to us to the proper authorities, those being the Omaha Police, Child Protective Services and the Public Practices Commission. Additionally, Mr. McGreevy was placed and has remained on paid leave. We appreciate the work of the Police and these public entities.”

Thursday's report states that the investigation is ongoing and detectives with the OPD Child Victim Sexual Assault Unit say there may still be more victims.
