Nebraska Medical Marijuana Petition Initiative Moves Forward

An advocacy group says the medical marijuana proposal should be on the November ballot in Nebraska, though there could still be a legal challenge from opponents.

"Nebraskans for Medical Marijuana" says that Secretary of State Bob Evnen will not withhold the initiative, okaying the language.

If passed, the constitutional amendment would allow patients to use medical marijuana as prescribed by their health care provider.

The group had easily surpassed the goal of 125-thousand signatures needed to get the petition initiative on the November 3rd ballot.
